Feis Expectation
-
All dancers that attend the Murphy Academy of Irish Dance are qualified to enter a feis under the CLRG organization.
-
If you have never heard of a feis before, click here >
-
We encourage dancers to perform at a feis after at least 6 months of enrollment. A feis gives dancers the opportunity to take their dancing to the stage and help them progress in their skills to be the best dancer they can be.
While attending a feis we expect:
-
Dancers to follow the rules set in place by the organizers of the feis.
-
Encourage each other and dancers from other schools.
-
Do not video tape per the CLRG rules.
-
Wear the proper costuming while performing on stage.
-
Enter a dancer in their proper age group and level. If you do not know your dancer's feis age or level please as the teachers.
-
Remember you and your dancer are representing the Murphy Academy. If you are not being respectful of the feis, organizers, dancers, teachers, or adjudicators there will be consequences.
-
Parents/Dancers must have proper sportsmanlike behavior whether the results.
-
Parents/Dancers are not allowed to ask other dancers for their placements or marks.
-
We ask that parents keep track of your dancer's placements through the levels and follow the rules and guidance of the teachers.
-
Parents must not put pressure on their children the move up the levels or achieve certain placements.
-
Dancers must accept their placements with grace and regardless of the marks be encouraged to be the best dancer they can be.
