Costume Information
-
When performing at feisanna, local community events, and parades we have a variety of costumes.
-
Mini Murph and Beginner dancers begin performing in a polo shirt and Murphy skirt (girls) or white button up, blue tie, and black dress pants (boys). If your dancer will be performing in their first feis or performance, you will need to get these items.
-
As dancers progress through the levels of a feis, they earn their costumes.
-
Dancers in Advance Beginner and Novice, perform in our school costume by Prime designs. Dancers are not required to purchase this costume. If your dancer will be performing at feisanna and/or the Oireachtas Championship, you will need a school costume for your dancer.
-
Once a dancer reaches the Novice level they are qualified to wear a school costume at feisanna. All solo dresses must be approved by the teachers.
-
Dancers do not need a solo dress once they reach the Novice level. Dancers can perform in their school costume until they reach Preliminary Championship.
-
We ask that parents do not rush into purchasing a solo costume. Please take your time in finding the right dress for your dancer. The most important is the fit. Please be sure you have current measurements of your dancer when looking.
-
If you know of a dancer looking for a dress and find an option that may work for them, please send it to us. The journey to finding the perfect dress is hard enough without other trying to give their opinion or advise.
-
We advise looking for a gently used costume before choosing to get a custom dress made for your dancer.
